Michael
PageE.
Thanks, Uriah Heep, for a great show!
Look at Yourself was a real highlight/ can't remember the last time I
saw a band so INTO what they were doing!
Mick Box, still the reigning guru of the wah-wah pedal, and a crazy nut!
Ladies and Gentlemen, it's The Bear, still banging away!
"NOW we see where you're at!"
Bernie Shaw, after Indianapolis crowd's reaction to a classic set of Uriah Heep's brand of kick-ass Rock n'
Roll!
...and Indy would like to thank 101.9 WKLU for being on the air, and for
bringing Uriah Heep to Eight Second Saloon!
Mark Kavanaugh and Jeff Miller
Just got home,
I
t's 2:30am and I
am still buzzing from the absolutely
unbelieveable show that Uriah Heep just put on
at the Eight Seconds Saloon.
My guess is that there
were 1000 present. Met up with Lannis and
Bobbie, they graciously saved seats for me and
my friend Fred. They are the greatest, I just
wish Mac could have made this show.
Took lots of pics, But
I will just upload my favorite one tonight (See
above :-). Tons more will follow tomorrow after
I get home from work (if I even go)!

Well
!
What can we say that hasn't been said before?
To Mac: Guess what, grandpa? (and congratulation!) Tonight in Indianapolis
was even better than Louisvilee, if you can believe that!!!
HUGE CROWD,
UNBELIEVABLE CROWD RESPONSE! There were people sitting in line under
umbrellas at 5:00, 2 hours before the doors opened and UH didn't start
until 9:25. The lines stretched around the building spilled over into the
parking lot.
Finally got to meet Bob Dreher. WHAT A GUY!!! Hi Bob! He will give you his
report of tonight, too.
Hasn't been able to log on. He has been busy, like you said. Told us
that there was a mixup at the Louisville hotel this morning and it took
them 1 1/2 hours to check out.
And now, to the particulars of tonight:
The set list was the same as the last 2 gigs. Come Away
Melinda had been crossed off the original list that Bob has. Many fans expressed that UH
should play their (the fans) own personal favorites, some including songs
that this lineup doesn't do. Bernie even told that to some fans.
It is hard
to imagine from just looking at them that these guys can be so dynamic and
explosive on stage. Tonight, the fans fueled the flames. It was everything
Pete and the European crowd have said it would be and more. There were
Bernie's arm gestures to Universal Wheel and his yellow tank-top wet with
sweat. In fact, you could see droplets flying across the stage when he
clapped his hands together to encourage crowd participation, as if this
crowd needed encouragement. Bernie wore the blue pants that looked like
they had clouds floating on them.
Trevor's hands moved so fast that you
couldn't see his fingers. He wore a black top and black pants with his
multi-purple jacket.
Phil broke bad with his blue Hawaiian looking shirt.
He experienced some difficulties with the keyboard tonight and at one time
it seemed as though the show would be delayed. Everything worked out ok.
Lee gave his drums a hell-of-a beating tonight. A fan blew on him during
the performance to keep him (and his drums) cool. Lee looked different in a
patterned red shirt.
And
Mick... Mick wow-ed and zow-ed the crowds with his
nimble fingers on the strings. I have never seen so many people playing
air-guitar at the same time. Must be some kinda Guiness record. Fans
grinned from ear-to-ear. And, btw, Mick wore black long-sleeved shirt and
blue jeans. (Lannis just called time on me. It's only 2:00 in the morning.
I'll send more later...
Bobbie)
Lannis here. Mick said that tonight's gig was a Porche 911. The Rolls
Royce is still yet to come. There was no warm up band. Wasn't needed. All
of us North American Heepsters know what it is like to be Heep starved.
These fans were like people that have been deprived of chocolate. They ate
it up.
The band was awesome. But what is really great is sitting there watching
the fans go wild. I mentioned to Bernie that there was a rumour that Heep
is back. Without hesitation, Bernie said that they never
left. After watching these fans, he's right. Heep has been in their hearts, even if
Heep hasn't been physically present. Well, can I say that Heep lives??
Heep On, Bobbie and Lannis
More PICS
