MORE HEEP... AND RELATED!

- Bernie Shaw's works with guitar player Dale Collins is progressing... Dale
(with bass player Neil) is now recording the bass and ax tracks for "Sad
Song"
and re-mixing it. Dale originaly wrote the lick on guitar, then it got
swithed to piano for the recording. Now they "dusted" the piano and string
section and replaced it with a sweet accoustic part, a rhythm ax track, and
he
is just about to do the solo track for it. Bernie left him 2 other songs
before he left last time out, and as soon as he is finished with this one
he'll
mix at least 2 of them. More at:
http://www.mp3.com/collinsshaw
- Besides that, Bernie is working hard with the band Mortice. You can listen
to 7 songs already at
http://www.mp3.com/mortice (the counter already registers
10,000 plays to date!)
- On of the webmasters at Uriah-Heep.com, Dave White, recorded a "Heep
Tribute
song" called "Heepheads" together with Bob Dreher, Mike "Muzzy" Fedysky and
Graham Hulme. You can watch the video and hear the song here:
http://www.heepheads.com/ (more
songs also available). Here's what Mick Box
has to say about the hommage: "I have my new computer and I have heard the
song
and seen the video. Boy I am very 'Umble indeed. That is so flattering and
thank you very much. I enjoyed them both immensely. Nice little lick on the
end solo mate. Diminished, demented and delightful (Editor's Note: Mick is
referring to Bob's guitar on the second solo; but please pay also attention
to
Dave's wah-wah guitar on the first solo!). Well done and many thanks to you
all. 'Appy Days, Mick, Uriah Heep"
- Last Monday (03/03/2003) the John Lawton Band started recording for the
new
studio album! Check their site out for pics and updates at
http://www.johnlawtonband.com .
The compositions come from all the members of
the band, and they are all originals. Expected release date some time in
Spring...
- Ken Hensley has been also updating the studio journal on his website:
http://www.ken-hensley.com .
- Kevin Julie has made some Heep-related interviews that should be of
interest
to Heepsters, with bass players Bob Daisley and Steve Dunning. Check them
out
at his "Universal Wheels" website at
