Uriah Heep & Snakecharmer
Shepherds Bush Empire, London – 8th December 2011

Just before the Holidays our UK reporter Mick Burgess met
with bass player Trevor Bolder of
Uriah Heep during their 10 date UK tour. Hear them
talking about being the first western band to play in Russia,
their new album Into the Wild,
future recording plans, and the band's many line-up changes
"If you have ever wondered where the name Uriah Heep
came from, he is a famous character from Charles Dickens
novel David Copperfield, whose signature phrase, "very 'umble,"
led to the title of the band's first album, Very 'eavy, Very
'umble, back in 1970"
My name is Vincent Polselli and I wanted to just let
you know what an incredible time we had seeing and
meeting Uriah Heep!
I bought a VIP package for myself 47 long time fan
and my son Benjamin we call him "Poppy"13 new fan
for their Las Vegas show where we live. I want to
say it was the best money I ever spent! The
experience was incredible! They guys in the band
were just awesome to my boy and I will never forget
it! Here is what it was like for us!!!
Our Uriah Heep Experience! First off we I purchased
VIP passes so first we went to sound check and Poppy
got to watch them do their thing! After SC the guys
came out and treated us like we were long lost
family! Mick Box gave Poppy guitar pics for his
collection and was so cool to us and spent almost a
half hour talking and getting to know us! Very
Trevor Bolden treated Poppy like he was his own son
gave him his strings from the night before and
autographed the box, he did not want us to leave as
we were having such a great time! Russell Gillbrook
treated us like gold and again treated us like
family so gracious, and Bernie Shaw loved how Poppy
dressed and spent about 15 minutes cracking us up!
Phil Lanzon was just such a kind hearted guy and was
just so thoughtful! Not your usual Rock Stars!
They treated us like gold and gave Poppy an
autographed poster! It was a pleasure meeting them
and what they did for my son I will never forget!!!
We watched the show as the tore through a killer set
of classic "The Wizard","Lady in black", "Easy
livin","Rainbow demon","Bird of prey" "Stealin" as
well as some excellent new songs "Nail on the head",
"Into the wild","Money Talk"!
They were so on it was ridiculous! They made Poppy a
huge fan! After the show we went backstage which
Poppy could not believe! We hung out for a few
minutes and talked about the show...They made Poppy
promise to come see them next year and bring 20
friends his age with him!LOL!!! We then took a group
photo with the band after we all stopped clowning
around with Poppy!!! Right before they snapped the
shot Trevor stole Poppy's fedora for the shot! it
was so cool and they gave us a memory of a lifetime!
Thanks To Mick,Bernie,Trevor,Phil and Russel "Uriah
Heep" We will never forget it! One of the best bands
I have ever seen live!!!
See ya next year!!!

Report from may 24 by Tapio Minkkinen:
Today was the first time I heard the new Heep
on Finnish radio! I was doing some shopping and was listening to
station called Radio Rock. All of a sudden I heard Uriah Heep
This was a surprise since this station doesn't play Heep that
often at daytime. The dj talked about a new single Nail On The
Head and among other things that this is the band's 23rd studio
album and they've been going for over 40 years and even
mentioned that the band has a very active fanclub in Finland!
Radio Rock is the nr. 1 rock channel in Finland and they play
mostly hard rock and metal.
Nail On The Head is featured this week at their "Rautaa vai
Roskaa" voting (= "Good or Rubbish" in English). On the
afternoon show Rockin Iltapäivä from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. each week
they choose one new release and listeners can vote at the
website or by phoning in and judge whether it's good or not.
The song is played completely at least once at ca. 3.30 p.m. and
shorter samples several times during the afternoon. If there are
more than 50% plus votes the song usually gets played for the
second time after 6 p.m. when the show ends.
This is done all through the week from Monday to Friday and then
on Friday there's the final verdict. So Nail On The Head will
lots of airplays this week. Attached is a screen shot showing
the current status and it's really good: 84 % Rautaa votes!

December 6 2009
the 40th Anniversary Celebration tour of Europe is just over
half way through, and thus far it has been fantastic.
There have been plenty of sell outs, and there is a real buzz about the
band at the moment that feels really good. The set list has now
bedded down, and has been getting a fantastic response, and we
feel we are just getting into our stride. The first two shows of
the Concert Live Official Bootleg CD’s have gone down very well,
and we seem to be autographing an awful lot of them, so that is
a good sign.
The Celebration CD & CD/DVD have had excellent reviews along with the live
shows, so I can report it is a very happy Heep camp at the
moment. We have just finished a run of 6 consecutive shows, in 5
consecutive cities, which has been quite gruelling for the band
and crew, so it is nice to have a night off tonight to recharge
our batteries for the next run of shows. I am writing this in
our hotel in Aschaffenburg.
Next year is filling up already with confirmed shows in Greece, Russia,
South Africa, Germany, Finland and Poland to name but a few, so
it looks like a busy 2010.
A big thanks to all of you that have come to the shows thus far, and we
hope to see as many fans as we possibly can over the coming
