- Official announcement about the cancellation of the tour in Russia,
Moldova, Ukraine and Belarus:
"Uriah Heep regret to announce the cancellation of their forthcoming nine
date tour of Russia, Moldova, Ukraine and Belarus which was scheduled to
commence in Chisinau, Moldova tomorrow, Wednesday, June 4th. The last
minute cancellation comes as a result of the tour promoters complete lack
of adherence to contractual stipulations concerning PA, lights, backline
equipment, visas, tour itineraries, travel arrangements and failure to
make scheduled payments. Uriah Heep bitterly regret having to cancel the
tour, but over the past few weeks it has been impossible to finalise
arrangements for the tour due to the promoters total failure to fulfill
their contractual obligations or supply the band with the correct advance
information. Cancelling the tour has come as a last resort and after
extensive negotiations to resolve the issues, Uriah Heep were not in a
position to have any confidence that shows could be put on, or even take
place, up to the band and the fans expectations. Uriah Heep would like to
apologise to all their fans for the cancellation due to a situation
completely beyond their control and would certainly hope to be able to
visit these countries again in the future to put on a show that the fans
deserve."

- OTR would like to announce the forthcoming release of their new album "Mamonama"!
John Lawton says: "Together with Jan Dumée, Marvio, Xande and Ney (the
boys from Brasil) we are happy to say that our new CD will be released
throughout Europe, USA and Canada with Lion Music in September...... The
South American release will be with Azul Music and is also scheduled for a
September release...... I would like it to be known that this project with
Jan and the guys is not a Lawton solo CD and should not be seen as such. I
have always strived to do something a little bit different with every new
release that I am part of, and with "Mamonama", I think we have done that....
This album is not hard rock, but it does have certain elements of
Lucifer's Friend with a jazzy blues feel, which we are hoping will
accommodate the various fans taste in music". More details soon on their
website ( http://www.otr-band.co.uk ) where a new band photo and the front
cover of the CD can be checked now.
- Trivia time... In a recent issue of the Dutch pop book "WahWah" (
http://www.wah-wah.nl/ ), the renowned novel writer Herman Brusselmans - a
big name in the land of wooden shoes - was asked which album he would take
with him to an isolated island. His answer: "Followers of The Pissers came
up like mushrooms, we think of Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple,
and Yellow Shameflap, piece by piece bands that made fantastic hard rock
music, but all these bands stayed in the shadow of the best hard rock
group that ever was founded: Uriah Heep. That band recorded many LP's to
the joy of millions, their best record was 'Look At Yourself'." Herman
