- Another official statement from Uriah Heep's management and Mick Box as
well!
"The bad news is that there will not be a Magician's Birthday event in
London this year. Instead, the band will be concentrating all their
efforts on writing and recording their first all new studio CD for over
five years for release in the spring of 2006. However, apart from the
album, the good news is that there will be an even bigger and better
special event in the UK next year to coincide with the release of the long
awaited album and the start of a major world tour. Watch this space for
further details!", Simon Porter
"As you can see from the above we will not be able to get this years event
together for MB. This is a shame and I know it is a disappointment but we
are building for the future and putting a game plan together that will see
the band release more new material and fill up the tour sheet with many
exciting tours, concerts and festivals around the world. We thank you all
so much for your support at the previous MB's as they really were special
events to be treasured. I am confident there will be many more and there
will be no better way than to do something special to launch the new CD
that we are all waiting for.
'Appy days,
Mick Box"

- Due to some unforeseen circumstances and conflicts, the date of
Heepvention 2005 in Knoxville has been changed. The new date is Saturday/Sunday
August 6-7 which is one week later than originally planned. Stay tuned to

for upcoming news on the event.
- A new Heep tribute band: "Ureiya Kyofu" from Osaka, Japan! Their first
gig was held in a small hall in Osaka last December. The group's name
means "Wow ghost, terrible" and they chose that because it sounds similar
to "Uriah Heep". Their website is at
http://ureiyakyofu.fc2web.com/
.
- And finally, a bit of trivia again... Take a look at
http://www.thirstymerc.com...
the lead singer of the Aussie band Thirsty Merc is reportedly the
splitting image of... Dave Byron! Thanks to Michael Keating for the tip.
