Well it is a slow start to our
touring schedule this year which is
something we really did not want, as
we wanted to keep the momentum
going that we had with the
2008 European Tour.
To say we are disappointed that the
USA tour for the early part of 2009
did not materialize would be a huge
understatement, but our agent in Los
Angeles and New York are still
pursuing all the possibilities and
hopefully something will come of it.
The reaction to Wake The Sleeper worldwide has
been terrific and better than we
could have possibly imagined,
however the music business has gone
through a massive change over the
last few years and with the advent
of the credit crunch it has hit the
world for a six.
We are confident we can weather the
storm and slowly we are putting
dates in for this year as we are
staying positive and heading toward
our 40th Anniversary.
I am sure there
will be many exciting things ahead
and we really want to hit the road
and play as many shows as we can.
Thanks as always for your continued
support and you know just how much
we
appreciate that.

Well we have played 4 shows now and
the set list is really beginning to
bed in now. You probably know by now
we are not playing it safe and we
are performing the whole of the WTS
CD plus some of the classics Heep
songs. This is a very brave move but
we had to give it a go as we had
been playing the last set for quite
some time. It was time to stand up
and be counted.
The set has been very well received
so far and the response each night
has been wonderful, very warm and
very heartfelt. I am sure the people
who come to the show can see the
effort we have made to get this set
of songs as powerful as we can and
with a nice balance between the old
and new songs. We have even
introduced the original intro to
Gypsy which Is going down a storm
each night and sounds super
powerful.
We have been getting on very well
with Thin Lizzy and these German
shows are a rock night extravaganza
for the fans and one they will never
forget. Although we have only been
on the road for nearly a week the
dreaded cold germs have began to
surface. First to be hit is Phil and
Christos and we can only hope it
does not get passed on to everyone.
The set is very demanding and very
rewarding at the same time. I will
be interested to read the reviews as
they surface. They certainly cannot
deny the fact that we have been
brave and not taken the easy option
as some bands do and just play a
couple of new songs amongst the hits
and the classics. The backdrop when
we can get the whole thing up looks
tremendous and helps give a
freshness to how the stage looks and
having merchandising is a real plus
too. We even have a programme which
we have not had for at least 20
years.
This is a very exciting phase of our
career and there is a genuine buzz
and excitement surrounding us at the
moment which is very uplifting. We
look forward to seeing you all out
on the road and a big thanks to all
of you that have bought WTS and
merchandising so far as we do
appreciate your support.

Hi
! My name is Michael Cheprasov, I live in Russia, in
Kaliningrad city. At 08/30/2008 Uriah Heep was in my
city and did a concert. The day before
me with my girlfriend Inna Novozylova had a great
meeting with band in "Triumph palace" hotel. see
picture above.
Legendary British Rock Band Uriah Heep played one of the most
unusual shows of their illustrious
career July 24th when they performed
a free gig for the inmates of Rottenburg prison in Germany.
Housed in a former castle, the
prison also acted as the location
for the German launch of Uriah Heep's first new album for ten years
"Wake The Sleeper".
The concert was being funded by the
local city administration said the
prison's director Wolfgang Willard.
The band played for 1 hour in front
of about 500 prisoners, and actually
had declined to receive a concert
fee.
Uriah Heep have been successful
since the beginning of the 70s, with
hits like "Lady in Black" and more.
"Considering the number of prisoners
attending this gig, this can be
considered a first", said Willard,
who also emphasized the important
meaning of such an event for them.

He stayed for half of Heep's set on the side of the
