I had a brief chat with Bernie tonight about the postponement of the US
dates , apparently they were all sitting on the baggage carousel at Gatwick airport when Micks phone rang telling them not to repack as the US dates were off . He says he was the only one who wasn't really angry , yes he was annoyed , but the bigger picture is that everything has to be right .
His quote on the matter is "Do it right or not at all !!"
He also said that Neil Warnock is frantically trying to get them some work , they'll take any cancellations from festivals "anywhere" and can mobilise in 24 hours !! So lets hope bands get ill at festivals near you !!! Ironic if it does happen to be in the US !! but I doubt we'll have to mant
promotors coughing up those sums of money .
They are also looking at other territories that traditionally have busy
touring schedule around this time ie South America and South Africa .
He said also he had a real nice Birthday in St. Petersburg with more Buluga caviar than they could eat and Trevor and Phil enjoying the Russian Champagne !!! Lee was also enjoying the Brandy , drinking it from something
the size of a goldfish bowl !!! The support band was a russian Beatles
cover band , they couldn't speak a lot of English , but the harmonies and
musicianship was excellent , well until Lee joined them on stage for the
chorus's :o)
